Clear sight picture, easy to zero, rugged, waterproof, lightweight, many mount options etc.
Also NV-compatible and has a long battery life. Has everything I could ask for.

Here are pictures I took via 2nd gen Burris AR Tripler, mounted behind my newly bought Aimpoint T2, with various brightness settings (I cropped each image for clarity):

Magnified red dot is dividing to one big and two small dots below.
Sight is still usable, but such quality error is annoying, especially compared to the price I paid.
Sorry Aimpoint, I expected more. I'll stay with my Eotech XPS2 for >200m distance shooting, even knowing its thermal drift problem.

Being a long-time T-1 user and fanboy, I decided to try the -2 version for my new SIG SG 553 build, and did not regret it a single second.
As compared to the T-1, the main change is optics clarity. There is a *very* significant difference in light transmission and resolution.
The projection system has also been improved; the dot stays sharp even at very close ranges.
The rest is more or less cosmetic: the top cover is now protected by the scope body, and proper lens caps now come standard.
Overall, it is still easily the best compact reddot scope on the market. The difference between T-1 and T-2 is well worth the money.
