Primary Arms SLX6 1-6x24 SFP GEN III Details

  • All Primary Arms optics from the Silver series offer great value for money.
  • There is a wide array of reticles available for this model – most use Primary Arms’ famous ACSS design.
  • Having 11 illumination intensity levels on a riflescope in this price class is exceptional.
  • Primary Arms grants superb warranty terms for their products.

Introduction

Primary Arms is an American company that is constantly gaining in popularity for two major reasons – offering products of high quality at an affordable price, and implementing their own, custom reticles in their optical devices. One of the most popular reticles is ACSS with holdovers for bullet drop, designed for CQB.

In 2019, Primary Arms decided to divide their optics in four tiers, Classic (CLx), Silver (SLx), Gold (GLx), and Platinum (PLx). They chose to do this because their customers had difficulties determining which riflescope belongs to which price class. Primary Arms’ products are now much more organized, which makes work easier for both customers and retailers.

About the series

‘Silver’ is Primary Arms’ mid-range series of optics, the core of their line-up. As regards price, it is positioned above ‘Classic’ and below the ‘Gold’ series.

In this series, Primary Arms has riflescopes, prism scopes and magnifiers available. Riflescopes are of the SFP and FFP type, and there are various lens diameters at disposal.

The optics in this tier are priced from 250 € to 600 €. All of them are manufactured in China. They are backed by Primary Arms’ lifetime warranty (10 years).

Most of the riflescopes in this series can be purchased with Primary Arms’ famous ACSS reticle.

About the model (1–6x24 SFP GEN III)

One of the foundations of Primary Arms’ philosophy is keeping up with the modern trends in the world of optics. For this reason, their optics are constantly updated – this is the third generation of the 1–6x24 SFP model in the Silver series.

The riflescope features a second focal plane design, meaning that the reticle is of the same size at all magnifications. This is a great scope for situations where having minimal coverage of the reticle at high magnifications is crucial. Because of its features, the PA 1–6x24 SFP is often compared to Vortex Strike Eagle 1–6x24 SFP.

The 1–6x24 SFP is of the wide-angle type. At 1x magnification, it can be used with both eyes open, which makes observing incredibly comfortable. There are many reticles to choose from, most of them of the ACSS type: ACSS .22 LR, ACSS 5.56/5.45 .308, ACSS BLK300 / 7.62x39, ACSS Coyote, ACSS Griffin Mil, ACSS Predator, and K. I. S. S. Primary Arms is sure to introduce more in the future.

It has an illuminated reticle with 11 brightness settings altogether. The illumination system is powered by a CR2032 battery. Primary Arms 1–6x24mm SFP features standard, capped hunting turrets with a 14 mm/100 m click (1/2 MOA).

The housing is made from aluminium. The user can purchase the riflescope with a matte black or grey finish. The objective and eyepiece covers are provided. They are made from rubber and plastic.

Average scope but really nice reticle By

I presume that optical quality is more or less the same on all similar 1-6x24 scopes od this class. However the reticle options are really special and unique.
