I own several different brands and this with the 1 MOA dot + 65 MOA ring is by for my favorite. I've had it for over a year now, the automatic on/off, automatic dim still work great and its still using the original battery. I recommend it to everyone.

The SMSc is fine but as mentioned why can't a cover be provided considering the instruction booklet recommends that we use one when not shooting. Many lesser valued have no problems with supplying a cover. When shield gets around to making a cover they should offer one at no charge for earlier buyers.

SMSc sight for HellCat

I have the above sight and I'm not impressed at all, as after spending a lot of money on this sight from Springfield Armory they sent me and open box and then had me send it back acting like they would give me a sealed one; only to send me another open box. This was my first and last time to ever deal with this company as they lied to me and I don't do business with a company like that. I would not trust this sight as it doesn't even come with a cover for the sight to protect it.
