Steiner Ranger Xtreme 8x42 Details

With its reasonably high 8x magnification that is able to achieve a good level of image detail, but not so high so as to reduce the field of view or exit pupil by too much as well as the fairly large 42mm lenses that are able to gather a good amount of light, but at the same time are not so large as to make the instrument difficult to carry over long distances, this 8x42 model is the ideal all-rounder within in the Steiner Ranger Xtreme series of binoculars.

At 125m wide at a distance of 1000m, the wide view that you are presented with when looking these binoculars makes scanning wide open areas at a long distance more efficient and at close range it makes it easier to quickly zero in on your subject and then follow it. In the case of fast-moving targets, this is an extremely important attribute and once again they show how versatile they can be in a wide variety of situations.

As well as being good at mid to long distances, these Steiner Ranger Xtreme 8x42 binoculars are able to focus on an object at just 1.9 meters away. For a full-sized binocular this is excellent and adds to their versatility as it makes them great for studying things such as butterflies or flowers from very close range.

Made from super durable Makrolon, the housing on these Steiner binoculars is tightly sealed and filled with Nitrogen gas to make them 100% waterproof and fog proof.

Other external features include a high grip NBR-Longlife rubber armouring to add a further layer of protection to the optics. This special rubber is also more resistant to the hardening and perishing caused by the sun as well as the oils and acids that often get transferred onto the instrument from your hands.

Another excellent feature on these Ranger Xtreme binoculars are the multi-position twist-up eyecups. Made of soft, skin-friendly and non-ageing silicone they are not only comfortable, but the side shields block out the peripheral light and thus allow you to stay focused on your target and maintain the best possible views no matter which direction the light is coming from.

Note: If you need to use these binoculars whilst wearing eyeglasses, you can simply twist down the eye-cups and fold down the side shields.

Best binos for me, really nice rubbering and I especially like the "side-skirts" on the eyepieces.

Purchase was fluent and delivery fast.
